Srinagar, Apr 8 (NVI): The Meteorological Centre Srinagar, on Wednesday said that erratic weather conditions are expected to continue across Jammu and Kashmir till April 10.
Director MET Dr. Mukhtar Ahmad said that on April 8, the weather will remain generally cloudy with intermittent light to moderate rain or snow in higher reaches at most places till evening, accompanied by thunder, hail and gusty winds at a few locations.
For April 9 and 10, he forecast brief spells of light rain or thundershowers at scattered places, mainly during afternoon or late afternoon hours.
The MeT Director further said that April 11 and 12 will witness partly cloudy skies with chances of brief light rain at a few places towards late afternoon or evening, while April 13 and 14 are expected to remain generally dry.
He added that on April 15 and 16, weather will again turn generally cloudy with brief spells of light rain at isolated places during late afternoon or evening hours.
Issuing an advisory, he warned of the possibility of thunder, hailstorms and gusty winds with speeds reaching 40–50 kmph at a few places, along with landslides at vulnerable locations.
Farmers have been advised to resume farm operations from April 9 onwards, while a gradual rise in day temperatures by 4–6°C is also expected at many places from tomorrow. (NVI)
