New Delhi (NVI): Some media reports are claiming that Indian Railways might charge 10 percent extra fare from passengers who want to travel by sleeping on the train.
The Fact Check Unit of the Press Information Bureau (PIB) has investigated the claim and found it to be misleading and said that Railway Ministry has not made any such announcement.
It further stated that it was just a suggestion given to the Railway Board in this regard.
Debunking the fake news, PIB took to Twitter and wrote in Hindi, “In some media reports, it is being claimed that Railways can charge 10% more fare from passengers who want to travel by sleeping in the train.
#PIBFactCheck : This claim is #misleading. It was a suggestion given to #RailwayBoard. @RailMinIndia has not made any such announcement.”
pic.twitter.com/M4UFasUo6V
