Jammu,Oct 29(NVI): In a drastic fire at Purkoo Camp of Displaced Kashmiri Pandits on the outskirts of Jammu city, 12 quarters were gutted on tuesday.
As per reports the fire started in one old quarters of Purkhoo camp & quickly engulfed nearby quarters as well.
In quick response to the incident Fire Service department rushed to the spot to put off the fire and prevent further damage.
No one was reported hurt but most of the household goods and a two-wheeler were reduced to ashes.
Victims alleged that no one from the district administration or the relief department has so far come to assess the extent of the damage.
They also urged Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to provide them compensation on the pattern of the Warwan in Kishtwar. We want the intervention of the LG Manoj Sinha, fire victims said. (News Vibes of India)
