New Delhi (NVI): The first ever tableau of Union Territory of Ladakh was displayed at Republic Day parade in New Delhi today.
The tableau highlighted the ‘Vision’ for Ladakh to be carbon neutral and exemplary for the world.
This is the first time after the abrogation of 370 and bifurcation of erstwhile state into into two Union Territories – Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh – a tableau from Ladakh was displayed at the parade.
An official from Ladakh said that this tableau represents the bright future and development of Ladakh in terms of its natural resources and tourism potential.
He said it also represents composite culture, peace and amity.
The official said that the Indian Astronomical Observatory located in Hanle, Leh, one of the world’s highest sites for optical, infrared and gamma-ray telescopes, was also featured in the tableau.
