Srinagar, Jan 5 (NVI): A heartbreaking tragedy unfolded in Srinagar’s Pandrathan area on today evening, when five family members, including a husband, wife, and their three children, tragically died due to suffocation.

According to a senior police official, the family had been residing in a rented accommodation in the Pandrathan locality when the incident occurred. The exact cause of the suffocation is yet to be determined, but it is believed that a lack of proper ventilation may have contributed to the fatal outcome. The family members were discovered unconscious inside their home and were immediately rushed to the hospital. Sadly, all five were declared dead upon arrival.

The deceased family members were originally from Baramulla and had relocated to Srinagar for work. While their identities are still being verified by authorities, sources indicate that they were living in challenging conditions due to the harsh winter.

An investigation has been initiated to ascertain the circumstances surrounding the incident. Authorities are also looking into potential safety measures to prevent such tragedies in the future. The community has been left in shock, as the incident highlights the dangers of inadequate living conditions, especially during the colder months.

As the investigation continues, local officials and family members are mourning the sudden and tragic loss of five lives. (News Vibes of India)
