New Delhi (NVI): French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian will arrive in India later today on a four-day visit to discuss bilateral and international issues and strengthen ties in various sectors including defence, climate and health.
The Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France will pay an official visit to India from April 13-15, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) said in a statement.
He will hold talks with External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar tomorrow on bilateral, regional and international issues of mutual interest, MEA said.
Le Drian will also meet the Prakash Javadekar, Minister of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, at a panel discussion on Climate Change. He will also participate in the Raisina Dialogue, the Ministry said in a release.
“India and France enjoy a strategic partnership since 1998 which has been marked by regular high level exchanges and growing cooperation in diverse areas,” the read the official statement.
“Mr Le Drian’s visit will pave the way for further strengthening of the partnership across trade, defence, climate, migration and mobility, education and health sectors in the post-Covid context,” it added.
