Fresh encounter in J&K, 4th in 5 days

Srinagar, Aug 13 (NVI): A fresh encounter between security forces and terrorists has erupted in the Jammu Division, this time in the mountainous region of Patnitop.

The Army said contact with the terrorists was established in Akar forest during a search operation.

“Based on specific intelligence inputs, a joint operation by #IndianArmy and #JKP was launched in Akar Forest near Patnitop,” the Army posted on X.

“Contact has been established with the terrorists and operations are in progress,” it added.

This is the fourth gunfight between security forces and terrorists in J&K in the last 5 days.

The earlier three were in Anantnag, Udhampur and Kishtwar districts.
