Srinagar, Oct 06(NVI): In a landmark event for Kashmir, the Bakshi Stadium in Srinagar is set to host a major international cricket tournament, the Legends League Cricket (LLC), marking a historic return of international cricket to the region after nearly 40 years.
The first team, one of the participating teams, has already touched down in Srinagar. “The players, along with team staff from all five competing sides, will be staying Srinagar,” an official confirmed.
Among the early arrivals are well-known cricket personalities such as Dinesh Karthik, Martin Guptill, Pawan Negi, and Kedar Jadhav.
The enthusiasm among the locals is at a peak, with cricket lovers eagerly anticipating the opportunity to witness these stars in action.
Scheduled from October 9 to 16, the tournament will also feature cricketing legends like Chris Gayle, Shikhar Dhawan, Irfan Pathan, and Ian Bell, adding to the excitement surrounding the event.
In the meanwhile, officials revealed that the stadium’s capacity of over 30,000 spectators was a key factor in its selection over Sher-e-Kashmir Stadium, allowing a larger audience to enjoy the thrilling action live.(News Vibes of India)
