Jammu: A group of 3-4 terrorists have been entrapped in a cordon laid by the security forces since yesterday in Udhampur district of Jammu region, according to Deputy Inspector General of Police Rayees Mohammad Bhat.
The operation started yesterday when first contact took place in Basantgarh area of Udhampur.
According to Bhat, security forces have been closely monitoring the movement of terrorists for the past 3-4 days.
On receiving specific intelligence about their location, the area was cordoned off, leading to the initiation of the operation yesterday morning.
“Yesterday morning, we started the operation, and at around 4:30 pm, contact was established with the terrorists,” Bhat explained.
“Contact was established twice within two hours. As per our information, a group of 3-4 terrorists is trapped inside our cordon, which is why the operation is continuing today.”
The police officer expressed confidence that the terrorists would be neutralized soon.
