Jammu, Mar 11 (KNC): In a sensational incident, a gunshot was fired tonight at a wedding ceremony where Jammu and Kashmir National Conference President Farooq Abdullah and J&K Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary were present, officials said on Wednesday.
Both Farooq Abdullah and Surinder Choudhary are safe and no injuries were reported in the incident, police said.
The shooter, identified as Kamal Singh Jamwal of Jammu, was nabbed immediately and handed over to the police.
Officials said the accused was reportedly under the influence of alcohol when he fired the shot during the function, triggering panic at the venue.
Further investigation into the matter is underway, officials added.(NVI)
