Srinagar, Oct 8 (NVI) Around 15 tourists were safely rescued after the Shikara they were travelling in got stranded in Dal Lake here amid strong winds and rain, officials said on Thursday.
The tourists were on a Shikara ride when the boat got stranded near Nehru Park due to the inclement weather, they said.
On receiving information, rescue teams, including personnel from the CRPF and SDRF, launched an operation and safely evacuated the tourists, officials said.
The exact number of tourists could not be immediately ascertained, with officials indicating that the number may have been more than 15.
All the rescued tourists were safe, they said.—(NVI)
