New Delhi: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall over parts of North, East and Peninsular India today.
According to IMD, “Heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places very likely over East Rajasthan and West Madhya Pradesh.”
“Heavy Rainfall at isolated places likely over Jammu & Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan & Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, West Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Bihar, West Bengal & Sikkim, Odisha, Madhya Maharashtra and Konkan & Goa,” the IMD said.
Thunderstorm accompanied with lightning very likely at isolated places over Bihar, Jharkhand, West Bengal & Sikkim, and Odisha, it said.
Strong winds (speed 50-60 kmph gusting to 70 kmph) very likely over north Maharashtra and Gujarat coast and (speed 40-50 kmph gusting to 60 kmph) over southwest Bay of Bengal and along & off Sri Lanka coast.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into these areas, the IMD said.
