Rajouri, Oct 16 (NVI): Security forces on Friday recovered and destroyed an improvised explosive device (IED) during an anti-terror operation in the upper reaches of Rajouri district, sources said.
The joint team of the Indian Army and Jammu and Kashmir Police, assisted by intelligence agencies, launched a search operation in the Thungwali area of Kandi in the district.
During the operation, an old terrorist hideout was busted, leading to the recovery of an IED from the spot, sources said.
The explosive device was subsequently destroyed through a controlled explosion, they added.
Search operations in the area were underway when the last reports were received. —(NVI)
