IGP Kashmir chairs key winter preparedness, Security review meeting

Srinagar, Dec 23 (NVI): Inspector General of Police Kashmir Zone, V.K. Birdi today chaired an important review meeting at the Police Control Room (PCR) Kashmir to assess the region’s winter preparedness and security arrangements for upcoming events.

A police spokesman said that the meeting was attended by senior officials, including the IG CRPF (SOS), DIGs of Kashmir Zone Police, district SSPs, and representatives from other key law enforcement agencies.

IGP Kashmir stressed on the need for proactive security measures to strengthen the region’s security grid, ensuring smooth and secure events throughout the winter season. He directed district SSPs to manage traffic efficiently, particularly during the festive days.

The security review also focused on the protection of vital installations and ensuring the security dominance of key highways. IGP Kashmir stressed the importance of heightened surveillance on anti-national elements and enhancing area domination. He further called for close coordination between agencies to address any emerging security challenges.

The meeting concluded with a collective resolve to ensure a safe and peaceful environment for all upcoming events in the valley.(News Vibes of India)
