New Delhi: India recorded 27,254 fresh COVID-19 cases and 219 deaths in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this increase, the total active cases now are 3,74,269 while the cumulative death toll has gone up to 4,42,874, the ministry said.
Nearly 37,687 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,24,47,032.
A total of 74,38,37,643 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the country so far, with the inoculation of over 53,38,945 beneficiaries in the last 24 hours.
The number of fresh cases reported today is less than the figure reported yesterday, when the figure was 28,591.
The death figure reported yesterday was 338.
The country recorded 33,376 fresh COVID-19 cases and 308 deaths in 24 hours on Saturday.
The previous day report said 34,973 COVID-19 cases and 260 deaths were registered in 24 hours.
On Thursday last, the country recorded 43,263 fresh COVID-19 cases and 338 deaths in 24 hours.
At least, 37,875 fresh COVID-19 cases and 369 deaths in 24 hours last Wednesday.
The country recorded 31,222 fresh COVID-19 cases and 290 deaths in 24 hours on Tuesday.
