India records highest single-day surge in covid deaths in a month

New Delhi: India recorded the highest single-day covid deaths in a month with registering 3,998 fatalities and 42,015 fresh COVID19 cases in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.

With this increase, the cumulative death toll in the country has reached 4,51,459.

Nearly 36,977 patients have recovered in the last 24 hrs, taking the total number of recoveries to 3,03,90,687, the Health Ministry said.

Yesterday, the country recorded 30,093 fresh COVID-19 cases and 374 deaths in 24 hours.

On Monday, the country recorded 38,164 COVID-19 cases and 499 deaths in 24 hours.

On Sunday, the country recorded 41,157 COVID-19 cases and 518 deaths in 24 hours.

On Saturday last, the country recorded 38,079 COVID-19 cases and 560 deaths in 24 hours.

On Friday last, the country recorded 38,949 COVID-19 cases and 542 deaths in 24 hours.

On Thursday, the country recorded 41,806 COVID-19 cases and 581 deaths in 24 hours.
