New Delhi (NVI): A total of 4,01,993 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the last 24 hours in India, taking the cumulative cases to 1,91,64,969 in the country. This is the highest ever spike since the pandemic has started in 2020.
The country has also registered 3,523 deaths and 2,99,988 discharges in the last 24 hours, as per Union Health Ministry.
“India reported 4,01,993 new COVID-19 cases, 3,523 deaths and 2,99,988 discharges in the last 24 hours. Total cases stand at 1,91,64,969, recovries at 1,56,84,406 while toll rose to 2,11,853. There are 32,68,710 active cases in the country,” health ministry said in a daily bulletin.
According to the data, 15,49,89,635 doses of vaccine has been administered so far.
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) said that 28,83,37,385 samples were tested up to April 30, 2021 for COVID19. Of these, 19,45,299 samples were tested yesterday.
