New Delhi: India registered 2,55,874 fresh Covid cases and 614 fatalities in the last 24 hours, the Union Health Ministry said today.
With this, the cumulative death toll due to the Covid pandemic has reached 4,90,462.
The active cases stood at 22,36,842 and the daily positivity rate is at 15.52%, the Ministry said.
Nearly 2,67,753 patients have recovered in the last 24 hours, taking the cumulative recoveries to 3,70,71,898.
Yesterday, the country registered 3,06,064 new cases and 439 deaths in 24 hours.
A day earlier, the government reported 3,33,533 new cases and 525 deaths in the preceding 24 hours.
On Saturday morning, the government reported 3,37,704 fresh Covid cases against 3,47,254 recorded a day earlier.
The country also recorded 488 deaths during the preceding 24 hours.
On Thursday last, the government reported registration of 3,17,532 fresh Covid cases and 491 fatalities in a span of 24 hours.
A day prior to that, the government reported 2,82,970 Covid cases across the country in 24 hours.
