New Delhi (NVI): India has recorded 18,711 fresh coronavirus cases in the last 24 hours, taking the overall tally to 11,210,799, according to the Union Health Ministry.
At present, there are 1,84,523 active cases in the country. The death toll due to the virus has reached 1,57,756 with 100 fresh fatalities. So far, 10,868,520 patients have been discharged.
Apart from that, more than two crore people have been vaccinated the second phase of immunization drive. According to the Health Ministry, 14,24,693 people were inoculated in the last 24 hours.
India began its massive vaccination drive January 16. The vaccination of frontline workers started on February 2.
The second phase of vaccination, for people above 60 and those 45 with co-morbidities began on March 1.
