New Delhi: In yet another major step towards security preparedness, the Indian Navy today successfully carried out test-firing of an indigenously-built Torpedo to target an underwater object.

Successful engagement of an Underwater Target by an indigenously-developed Heavy Weight Torpedo is a significant milestone in #IndianNavy‘s & @DRDO_India ‘s quest for accurate delivery of ordnance on target in the underwater domain,” the Indian Navy spokesperson tweeted.

“This showcases our commitment to Future Proof Combat Readiness through #AatmaNirbharta,” the spokesperson added.

The Torpedo has been developed by the Defence Research & Development Organisation (DRDO).
