New Delhi (NVI): With 11,427 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, India’s overall COVID-19 tally reached 10,757,610, the Union Health Ministry confirmed today.
118 new COVID-19 fatalities have been reported across the country, taking the death toll to 1,54,392.
However, the daily new COVID-19 cases and deaths continue to follow a downward slide.
Currently, more than 1.04 crore patients have been cured an recovered across the country, while the active cases dropped to 1.68 lakh mark and stands at 1,68,235.
In worst-affected Maharashtra, the COVID-19 cases increased to 20,26,399 followed by Karnataka with 9,39,387 and Kerala with 9,29,178 positive cases.
The other worst hit states are Andhra Pradesh, (8,87,836), Tamil Nadu (8,38,340), Delhi (6,35,096) and Uttar Pradesh (6,00,299)
According to the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) data, over 19.70 crore samples tested for COVID-19 up to January 31. Of these, 5,04,263 samples were tested yesterday,
Apart from this, in another development, more than 37.5 lakh (37,58,843) beneficiaries have received the vaccination as on February 1, till 8:00 am under the nationwide COVID19 inoculation exercise.
In past 24 hours, 14,509 people were vaccinated across 253 sessions, while 69,215 sessions have been conducted so far, the Health Ministry data shows.
