New Delhi (NVI): The state of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat and Haryana reopened schools for different classes from today, after remaining shut due to the coronavirus induced lockdown.
All schools in these states have to follow all the standard operating procedures (SOPs) issued by the Center and respective state government.
The Department of School Education of Haryana allowed reopening of schools for classes 6 to 8 across the state, while Gujarat schools will reopen for classes 9 to 11.
Also, elementary schools in Andhra Pradesh would reopen for classes 1 to 5 for full-day with COVID-19 guidelines.
Meanwhile, the schools reopening for in-person classes will have to follow the SOPs issued by the Center that includes social distancing, sanitization of schools and other premises.
While thermal checking of students, teachers, and other staff, the mandatory wearing of face masks, and use of sanitizers will also be followed.
Under the SOPs, schools will allow only a limited number of students in each section and any student having a high temperature or symptoms will not be allowed to enter the school, while parents’ consent is also mandatory to attend classes.
Furthermore, other states including Maharashtra, Punjab, Telangana, Karnataka and Himachal Pradesh also reopened schools from today.
