Infiltration attempt thwarted at Kupwara, Exchange of fire; Operation on : Army

Srinagar, Oct 4(NVI): The army and other Security forces have thwarted the an infiltration bid at Gugaldhar in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, defence officials said.

The army wrote on X, that on October 4, based on an intelligence about infiltration attempt, a joint operation by the #IndianArmy and @JmuKmrPolice was launched at Gugaldhar, Kupwara. “Alert troops spotted suspicious activity and challenged, leading to exchange of firing with terrorists. Vigilant troops carried out effective fire, ” the army said, adding that the operation is in progress.

Defence sources said that after the exchange of fire, it is believed that the infiltrators have either gone back or hiding in the area. “Alert troops are combing the area to rule out presence of militants in the area, ” they said(News Vibes of India)
