Sopore, Jan 19(NVI) : An intense gunbattle is underway at the Sopore area of North Kashmir’s Baramulla district between security forces and militants.
Officials confirmed that a joint operation involving Police, Army and CRPF forces was launched in the Gujjar Pati area of Zaloora, Sopore, this evening. Kashmir zone police write on X that security forces busted a hideout in Zaloora ara of Sopore and the fire came out from inside after which cordon was laid.
Police sources said that the encounter began when militants opened fire on the advancing security forces as they approached a suspected hideout, prompting a swift retaliatory response. As of the latest update, the firefight continues, with forces engaging the militants in an ongoing exchange of fire.(News Vibes of India)
