J&K: 2 trapped militants surrender before forces in Pulwama

Pulwama (NVI): Two militants trapped in a house surrendered before Security Forces in south Kashmir’s Pulwama district in wee hours today.

Police sources said that two local militants were hold up in a house when Lelhar village of Pulwama was brought under siege yesterday evening.

During search operation there was an exchange of fire. “During intermittent exchange of fire, a militant sustained bullet injury. Family members were called in and militants were offered to surrender,” said an official.

He said after hard efforts, both the trapped militants surrendered and one militant with bullet injury has been shifted to hospital for treatment.

The official further said that militants surrendered along with 2 AK-47 rifles.

Pertinently, Lelhar encounter was the second one in a single day yesterday. Three local militants were killed in Mandoora Tral encounter yesterday, which was the first encounter of the day.
