J&K Assembly Elections : High Court to remain shut on polling days

Srinagar, Sep 12 (NVI): Consequent upon the announcement of General Elections to the Legislative Assembly of Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, the High Court of Jammu & Kashmir and Ladakh will have public holidays on the polling days.

A notification issued by the High Court reads that a public holiday shall be observed on Wednesday, September 25, 2024 in the Main Wing and Srinagar Wing of the High Court.

Similarly, October 1, 2024 (Tuesday), shall be a holiday for the Jammu Wing of the High Court, unless the elections are deferred, says the notification, a copy of which has been accessed by the News Vibes of India (NVI).

Further, the employees working in the Main Wing and are the domicile of other districts are also allowed an additional paid holiday on the day of a poll in their respective districts.

The Registrar Judicial Jammu and Srinagar have been asked to ensure that paid holidays are granted to employees working in their respective wings on their District Polling Dates.(NVI)
