Jammu (NVI): The people of Jammu and Kashmir resolved to shun separatism and embrace democracy in the recently held J&K DDC polls, General Officer Commanding-in-Chief, Northern Command, Lieutenant General YK Joshi has said.

Speaking on the occasion of Army Day at an event in Udhampur on Friday, the Northern Army commander said that by participating in DDC polls, the awaam (common people in Kashmir valley) have also welcomed the abrogation of Article 370 and improvement in governance thereof, which is a major game-changer.

“Our relentless operations on the Line of Control (LoC) backed with the robust multi-agency grid in the hinterland has exposed the deep state in Pakistan to change its approach and they are now in the process of recalibrating their approach on how to handle this situation,” Lt Gen Joshi said in his address.

The terrorist network and the minders across are trying hard to abet recruitment by offensive use of social media.

“The DDC elections held recently have however conveyed the resolve and the will of the awaam to shun separatism and embrace democracy. The abrogation of Article 370 and the improvement in governance thereof has been a major gamechanger and has helped restore the faith of the common people in the institutions of the government,” the Army commander said.

Lt Gen Joshi further said that the Army has played a significant role of creating an ecosystem of safety and normalcy in which the people can live their lives normally despite the Covid environment.
