Srinagar, Sep 21 (NVI) Jammu and Kashmir Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary on Monday criticised BJP legislators over their protests during the opening day of the autumn session of the Legislative Assembly.
Choudhary said the government was ready to respond to questions and issues raised by members in the House, but alleged that the protesting BJP MLAs were not willing to listen to the government’s replies.
“Our ministers are here to give answers on any issue, but these people are not ready to listen,” the deputy chief minister said.
He also appealed to the people of Jammu and Kashmir to take note of the conduct of the BJP legislators.
“I appeal to the people of J&K to see the real face of the BJP MLAs who do not want public welfare works to be done,” he said.
The remarks came amid protests by BJP members on the first day of the seven-day autumn session, during which legislators raised several issues concerning the Union Territory.
The session is expected to take up a range of legislative, developmental and governance-related matters.—(NVI)
