J&K: Forces launch anti-terror operation in south Kashmir’s Shopian

New Delhi (NVI): A massive cordon and search operation is underway at Nakashi Mohalla main town in south Kashmir’s Shopian, with the Army, J&K Police and CRPF on job, security officials said today.

The anti-militancy operation was launched after four terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Manihal area of Shopian district this morning.

According to security officials, the slain terrorists were associated with Lashkar-e-Taiba outfit. They were identified as Raees Ahmed Bhatt, Amir Shafi Mir and Aqib Malik. The identity of one more terrorist is yet to be ascertained.

The encounter broke out when the terrorists fired upon the security forces during a search operation in Manihal area.
