Bandipora, Aug 20(NVI): Scores of Medical Students from Kashmir Tibia College, Shilvath, Sumbal in District Bandipora staged a protest  to express their outrage and condemnation of brutal rape and murder case of a doctor in Kolkata.

The students gathered on the college premises, holding placards and banners that called for justice for the victim and stringent action against the perpetrators.

During the protest, the students emphasized the need for a safer environment for women across the country. They voiced their concerns about the rising cases of sexual violence and demanded that the government take immediate and effective measures to ensure the safety and security of women.

One of the students, stated, “We stand in solidarity with the victim and her family. Such heinous crimes must not go unpunished. We demand swift justice and harsher penalties for those who commit such atrocities.”

The protest concluded with a moment of silence for the victim and a pledge from the students to continue raising their voices against gender-based violence. They also urged society to come together in combating such crimes and ensuring a safe environment for all.

Nationwide protests erupted demanding justice to the slain doctor at the RG Kar Medical College and Hospital in Kolkata, with doctors and civil societies demanding justice and increased safety for medical professionals.     (News Vibes of India)
