Kidnapped Minor Girl Traced, Accused Arrested Within 24Hrs in Samba

Jammu, Oct 17(NVI): Jammu and Kashmir Police have traced a kidnapped minor girl from Phallain Mandal in Jammu district and apprehended the accused within 24 hours of the crime, following a complaint registered at Police Station Samba.

“The girl’s mother, a resident of Bihar, lodged a written complaint at Police Post Supwal, stating that her 13-year-old daughter had been kidnapped by an unknown person,” an official said, adding that acting on the complaint, an FIR (No. 269/2024) was registered under section 137(2) BNS at Police Station Samba, and a search was launched to locate the girl.

“Special teams from Police Post Supwal, led by DySP Headquarters and supported by the SHO of PS Samba and the IC of PP Supwal, carried out extensive raids at various locations,” he said.

After intensive efforts, combined with technical analysis, the police traced the kidnapped girl and the juvenile accused to Phallain Mandal in Jammu, the police said.

The police also said that the accused has been taken into custody, and further investigation into the case is ongoing. (News Vibes of India)
