Srinagar, Oct 09 (NVI): Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha today laid wreaths on the coffin of Territorial Army solider who was killed by unidentified terrorists in Kazwan forests of Kokernag in South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
An official spokesman in a statement to NVI said that the LG Sinha laid wreath and paid homage to rifleman Hilal Ahmad Bhat, who laid down his life in the line of duty for the nation.
“I salute the supreme sacrifice of our Army brave heart rifleman Hilal Ahmad Bhat. His valour and sacrifice will never be forgotten. The entire nation stands firmly with the family of the martyr in this hour of grief,” the Lt Governor said.
Earlier, the army’s Srinagar based 15 Corps wrote on X that a soldier had gone missing during an anti-terrorist operation in Kazwan forests of Kokernag yesterday evening. However, police said that the body of Hilal was found from the woods of Kazwan this morning after extensive searches. Police have launched the probe into the killing of soldier Hilal.
