Srinagar, Oct 06 (NVI) : Snowfall in higher reaches, including the Gulmarg skiing resort, and rain in the plains impacted Kashmir on Sunday, despite a forecast of mostly dry conditions for the next ten days.
Affarwat hills, Gulmarg Phase 2 has recorded the season’s first snowfall, with 2-3 inches accumulating in the upper reaches during the night,” an official said, adding that Razdan pass of Gurez also witnessed light snowfall.
According to an independent weather forecaster, the weather forecast for the next ten days indicates mostly dry conditions across the region.
“On October 5, a few areas may experience showers in the late afternoon or evening, but overall, dry weather is expected,” he said, adding that the trend continues on October 6, with only isolated short showers possible in one or two locations.
“October 7 and 8 are anticipated to remain mostly dry, with a slight chance of brief showers in some spots,” he said, adding that from October 9 to 10, mostly dry conditions will prevail, although a 50% chance of short rain spells exists in certain areas.
“From October 11 to 14, the forecast suggests continued dry weather,” he added.—(News Vibes Of India)
