New Delhi (NVI): Director General NCC, Lt Gen TK Aich, during his visit to the NCC Directorate North Eastern Region, held detailed discussions on the expansion plan of the North East Region and about including 18,000 new cadets in the NCC.
He discussed the expansion of border areas for enhancing the outreach of NCC in the country.
The Director General was on a three-day visit to NCC Directorate North Eastern Region from February 5 – 8, 2021.
Lt Gen Aich commended the Directorate for splendid performance at the Republic Day Camp (RDC) 2021 and securing the 4th rank at all India level for the first time, according to a statement issued by PRO Shillong.
Furthermore, the DG discussed in detail the expansion of border areas as a part of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision in enhancing the outreach of NCC in every nook and corner of the country, the statement added.
He emphasized on the need to make NCC available to each and every youth in the North East Region.
The DG also visited Shillong Group Headquarter and inspected the Guard of Honour. He emphasized the need to create NCC training academy in Meghalaya for training of cadets and holding of camps.
In addition to this, the Lt Gen also met the Governor of Meghalaya, Satya Pal Malik, and apprised him of the expansion plan and other ongoing NCC related issues in the state.
