Quetta, April 14 (NVI): Most parts of Pakistan-occupied Balochistan, except the capital Quetta, witnessed mass rallies yesterday to demand immediate release of Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) leader Dr Mahrang Baloch and other leaders who have been illegally detained by the Pakistani forces.

Dr Mahrang Baloch and other top leaders of the BYC were illegally picked up by the Pakistani forces over 3 weeks back when they were staging a protest in Quetta against the illegal detention and killing of some youth recently.

BYC had given a call for organising rallies and demonstrations in 20 towns and cities, including Quetta, but the protest programme in the capital of Balochistan was foiled by the Pakistani forces who were deployed in large numbers.

However, rallies and demonstrations took place in other major towns and cities like Gwadar, Turbat, Noshki, Kalat, Mastung, Khuzdar and several others places.

The participants, carrying placards and banners with written demands, marched down the major streets of these towns and cities.

The protesters chanted slogans against Pakistan and demaned release of Dr Mahrang and others.

The common theme in these protests was that “Pakistan is a terrorist State” and it is indulging in all kinds of atrocities in occupied Balochistan, where mothers have lost their sons, wives have lost their husbands, sisters have lost their brothers and children have lost their fathers because of oppression by Pakistan.
