New Delhi (NVI): Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador said he has tested positive for the novel coronavirus and has mild symptoms of the virus.
López Obrador said on his official Twitter account that he is undergoing medical treatment.
He tweeted, “I regret to inform you that I am infected with COVID-19. The symptoms are mild but I am already under medical treatment. As always, I am optimistic. We will all move forward.”
Mexican President, 67, who is back in Mexico City after a three-day visit to parts of northern and central Mexico, said he would continue working, and still planned to take part in a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin on Monday morning.
So far, the Latin American country has registered nearly 150,000 COVID-19 deaths and more than 1.7 million infections.
