Jammu, Sep 08 (NVI): With Jammu region the primary focus of BJP, all roads lead to the region not just to woo voters but to ensure they vote for the saffron party. After two day halt of Union Home Minister Amit Shah in Jammu where he launched party’s ‘Sankalp Patra’ on Sep 6 and 7, Union Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is arriving today while as Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to visit the region on September 14.
During his two-day stay in Jammu, Home Minister Shah launched a tirade against Abdullah’s, Mufti’s and Gandhi’s stating that these parties won’t form government in J&K. He also made it clear that it was the BJP led government at the Centre that has to restore the Statehood to J&K and not the Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and National Conference vice president Omar Abdullah.
BJP officials confirmed to NVI that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh is arriving in Jammu today to address massive rallies in Ramban and Banihal, where National Conference-Congress have fielded their own candidates. Pertinently, today’s rally by Rajnath is to counter the recent rally addressed by Rahul in Banihal where Congress has fielded its former J&K party chief Vikar Rasool and NC Sajid Shaeen. There will be a friendly contest in Banihal between NC and Congress as per the pre-poll alliance agreement. BJP has fielded a Muslim face Muhammad Saleem Bhat in Banihal.
In Ramban BJP has fielded Rakesh Thakur against NC’s Arjun Singh Raju. The contest will be tough in both seats as both Congress and NC believe that they are on a “safe land.” However, BJP is bringing its bigwigs to counter the NC-Congress vote bank. As Home Minister Shah expressed his satisfaction over the number of people present in Jammu rally, BJP officials said that Defence Minister will address a counter rally in Ramban and Banihal.
BJP’s J&K Media incharge Advocate Sajid Yousuf Shah confirmed to NVI that Prime Minister Modi will be visiting Jammu on September 14 to address mega rallies in Jammu. The venue, however, wasn’t clear yet. Sources in the BJP said that PM Modi will address rallies in Jammu and Ramban districts.
Pertinently, in Srinagar senior BJP leader Ram Madhav last week said that the party will get 35 seats in Jammu and wants 10 more in Kashmir. He claimed that this time it will be a historic elections in J&K as there will be BJP government and BJP chief minister. What remains to be seen is that whether party achieves its target of 35 seats in Jammu. (News Vibes of India)
