Three Die in Head-On Collision in Nagrota, Jammu

Jammu,Oct 27 (NVI) : Three youths died after a head-on collision between a truck and a motorcycle in the Panj Garain area of Nagrota on Sunday evening.

An official stated that the trio, whose identities have not yet been confirmed, died at the scene after an oil tanker truck collided with their motorcycle.

Terrorist Associate held in Handwara; Arms Recovered

Srinagar, Oct 27(NVI): Security forces on Sunday apprehended a terrorist associate and recovered arms from him in north Kashmir’s Handwara.

“During naka checking around Unisoo, one individual identified as Ishfaq Majeed Dar, son of Ab Majeed Dar from Latti Shart Sopore, was taken into custody,” a police officer said, adding that a pistol and live ammunition were found in his possession.

“An FIR No. 198/24 under U/S 13, 23 ULAP and 7/25 IA Act has been registered, and an investigation is underway,” he said.—(News Vibes of India)

MLA Veeri Detained with Ammo at Airport, Released Upon License Verification

Srinagar, Oct 27 (NVI) : Bashir Ahmad Veeri, Member of the Legislative Assembly from Bijbehara constituency and National Conference leader, was detained at Srinagar airport after ammunition was found in his baggage but was released upon presenting the license for his pistol.

While scanning his bag, two rounds of ammunition were found, an official said, adding that Veeri was en route to Jammu at the time.

He was taken to Police Station Humhama for questioning while further investigation is going on.

Driver dies in Pampore road accident

Srinagar, Oct 27 (NVI) : A 32-year-old driver died after his vehicle met with an accident in the Mendakpal area of Khrew Pampore in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on Sunday.

An official said that the driver of a dumper lost control of the vehicle, resulting in an accident that caused critical injuries.

He said that the injured was taken to a nearby hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival.

The body of the deceased, identified as Adil Ahmad Wani (32), was handed over to his family members after completing legal medical formalities.

Live Shell Recovered in Poonch, Diffused

Poonch, Oct 26 (NVI) : A live shell was found in Sector Mankote of the Mendhar area in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir.

An official said that the shell was found near a water point in Balnoi. “Authorities were alerted, and an Army Bomb Disposal Squad (BDS) team responded to the situation,” he said.

The official said that the BDS team conducted a controlled detonation of the shell, ensuring the area was safe.

He also said that there have been no reports of loss of life or injuries related to this incident.—(News Vibes of India)

PoK will soon be Integrated with J&K : Ashok Koul BJP

Srinagar, Oct 26 (NVI) : BJP general secretary for J&K, Ashok Koul, stated that Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) will soon be integrated with Jammu and Kashmir and India.

Ashok Koul was with BJP’s Kashmir unit  to commemorate Accession Day i.e 26th October with a ceremony at the Party Headquarters at Jawahar Nagar Srinagar.

He noted that in the past, J&K experienced shutdowns, but now people in Jammu and Kashmir are witnessing development and progress.

Koul while speaking to reporters at Srinagar, said that a resolution has been passed in Parliament regarding the merger of PoK with Jammu and Kashmir. “BJP will pursue this,” he while referencing the abrogation of Article 370, which integrated Kashmir fully with India under one constitution.

Regarding recent attacks, he said that these acts aim to disrupt the peace in the region, while security forces are actively countering these threats. In response to Farooq Abdullah’s statement about not engaging in talks with Pakistan until it ceases terrorism in J&K, Koul said that Abdullah’s position aligns with the BJP’s long-standing stance on the issue.—(News Vibes of India)

3-4 terrorists believed to be involved in Botapathri, Gulmarg attack : SSP Baramulla

Srinagar, Oct 26 (NVI) : Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Baramulla, Zaid Mohammed, stated that 3-4 terrorists were involved in the Botapathri attack while a search operation was launched by security forces in Botapathri and nearby areas in North Kashmir to locate the terrorists.

“The operation was halted overnight but resumed early today, involving police, Army, paramilitary, and other security forces,” the SSP said, adding that the search is focused on areas from Baba Reshi to Gulmarg.

“Before the Botapathri attack, search operations were conducted in other locations based on intelligence inputs,” he said.

The SSP confirmed that 3-4 terrorists are believed to be involved in the attack, which resulted in the deaths of five including three soldiers and two porters.—(News Vibes of India)

J&K can’t function under dual control : Nasir Aslam

Srinagar, Oct 26 (NVI) : Advisor to Chief Minister Nasir Aslam on Saturday stated that the system in Jammu and Kashmir cannot operate under dual control, where the Chief Minister focuses on one area while the LG handles security.

“J&K is not like other states. We have made commitments to the people, and we will fulfill them,” he said, adding that government should restore the statehood.

He noted that the government was formed a week ago and urged people to have patience and trust in the government they chose, assuring them that their issues will be addressed.

Regarding the Chief Minister’s meetings with the Home Minister, Defence Minister, and Prime Minister, he said that these discussions aimed to resolve common people’s issues, and they assured support for J&K’s progress.

On the Darbar move, he said that CM Omar Abdullah had already issued an order for its restoration, so there is no need for protests.

He also stated that the people mandated the National Conference, and the party is committed to resolving common issues, as J&K has been without elected representation for the last ten years.—(News Vibes of India)
