Balochistan: BLA says it attacked Pakistan Army Hqr

Quetta: Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) tonight claimed responsibility for an attack on the headquarters of the occupying Pakistani army in Quetta in Balochistan and said at least 6 soldiers were injured.

“Fighters successfully hit their target by firing multiple shells using grenade launchers at the Pakistani army headquarters,” BLA spokesman Jeeyand Baloch said about last night’s attack.

“As a result of the explosions, six enemy personnel were injured, some critically,” he added.

Baloch Liberation Army claims responsibility for the attack, he said, adding “Our operations will continue until the complete withdrawal of the occupying forces from Balochistan.”

Civilian Porter killed, 4 soldiers injured in Gulmarg terror attack

Srinagar, Oct 24(NVI):An army porter was killed while four soldiers sustained injuries when terrorists attacked an army vehicle in Nagin Gulmarg area of Baramulla district in north Kashmir on Thursday.

Official sources said that the attack occurred on the army vehicle in the Nagin area.

A civilian porter was killed while four soldiers were injured in the incident, prompting reinforcements to rush to the site and cordon off the area, they said.

They also said that a massive manhunt has been launched by security forces.              (News Vibes of India)

Srinagar, Oct 24(NVI) :Jammu and Kashmir Police said that some Exchange of fire was reported between terrorists and security forces in Butapathri sector of Gulmarg in north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Thursday.

“Some exchange of fire took place between forces and terrorists in Butapathri sector of District Baramulla around Nagin post,” the Baramulla police in a statement said, adding that further details will be shared after verifying facts.

He emphasized that continuous dialogue is key to finding solutions.In his speech, Singh discussed the interconnection between development and security, asserting that economic development can thrive only when national security is ensured. He pointed out that defence spending and military infrastructure can significantly influence economic growth, even in peacetime.

The Defence Minister outlined the government’s commitment to bridging the gap between development and security, noting that a significant portion of national budgets is allocated to security, which contributes to job creation and technological advancements.

He also discussed initiatives aimed at bolstering border area development, linking indigenous manufacturing of arms and equipment to economic opportunities, and fostering technological innovation. Singh stressed that self-reliance in defence does not equate to isolation but signifies a commitment to equitable global collaboration.

Singh underscored the need to examine the defence sector’s impact on economic indicators like income generation and employment creation. He emphasized that understanding these dynamics is crucial for effective policy formulation.

Chief of the Army Staff General Upendra Dwivedi highlighted the link between national security and nation-building, referencing Chanakya’s ‘Saptang Theory’ and the Army’s role in fostering development and growth.

At the event, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh launched the Green Initiative 1.0 and the Digitisation of Indian Army 1.0. The two-day Chanakya Defence Dialogue 2024, co-organized by the Indian Army and the Centre for Land Warfare Studies (CLAWS), features discussions on integrating security dynamics within national and international policymaking.

The dialogue includes speakers from various countries, offering a global perspective on the role of security in national development. The Indian Army is also showcasing initiatives in digitization and sustainability, aiming to align with the government’s Digital India Mission while maintaining operational readiness.

The second day of the dialogue promises to feature additional insights from prominent speakers, including ISRO Chairman Dr. S. Somanath and former Permanent Representative of India to the UN Ms. Ruchira Kamboj. (News Vibes of India)

NDA Government Ready to Work with Omar Abdullah for J&K’s Progress: Rajnath Singh

New Delhi,Oct 24(NVI): Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Omar Abdullah, met with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh on Thursday, where Singh expressed the NDA government’s willingness to collaborate on the region’s progress under Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

“Met with the Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah in New Delhi. The NDA Govt under PM Narendra Modi is looking forward to working with him for J&K’s progress,” said Defence Minister Rajnath Singh in a post on X.

In addition to his meeting with Singh, Abdullah also met Union Home Minister Amit Shah,Surface transport minister Nitin Gadkari and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Dy. CM Calls for Strict Ban on Illegal Mining in J&K

Srinagar, Oct 24 (NVI) : Deputy Chief Minister, Surinder Kumar Choudhary, emphasised the need for a complete ban on illegal mining in Jammu and Kashmir, stressing transparency and accountability in harnessing mineral resources to fuel economic growth and public asset development.

During a review meeting at the civil secretariat, Choudhary directed the officers to prioritise ecological concerns while allocating mineral blocks, ensuring preservation of flora and fauna and preventing contamination of water and other natural resources.

“The government is committed to responsible mining practices, balancing economic development with environmental stewardship,” Choudhary stated.

Emphasizing on strict enforcement, Dy CM directed the officers to ensure a complete ban on illegal mining operations. He said that the environmental protection with emphasis on preserving flora and fauna of the region is priority and prime objective of the current dispensation.

He stressed on transparency and accountability for maintaining openness and responsibility in mineral resource management. He instructed for initiating efforts towards fostering economic growth while safeguarding natural resources.

He reiterated that the government is dedicated to focus on environmentally conscious policies, aligning with existing regulations and guidelines.

The Deputy Chief Minister’s emphasis on responsible mining practices underscores Jammu and Kashmir’s determination to sustainable development and environmental protection.

Cop Injured After Grenade Went Off accidentaly in Baramulla Court

Baramulla, Oct 24(NVI): A police personnel was injured after a grenade went off accidentally inside the Malkhana  at Court Complex in Baramulla district of Northern Kashmir.

“At around 1:05 PM, a grenade went off accidentally inside the Malkhana in Court Complex, injuring one police personnel on duty,” a police officer said, adding that the situation is under control.

Dead body found at Nowgam in Srinagar

Non-Local Resident Shot and Injured in Tral, Kashmir

Srinagar, Oct 24(NVI):A 19-year-old non-local was injured when terrorists opened fire on him in Batagund village of Tral, located in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district, on Thursday morning.

An official stated that one bullet struck him in the hand, causing injury. He has since been evacuated to a nearby hospital in Tral, where his condition is said to be stable

The injured was identified as 19-year-old Shubam Kumar, son of Pritambar Singh.

Meanwhile, following the incident, security forces rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area, where a search operation is currently underway.

The fresh incident occurred just four days after a major terrorist attack in the Gagangir area, where seven people, including a doctor, were killed. (News Vibes of India)
