Srinagar, Aug5(NVI): Political defections continue in Kashmir Politics. In a latest political development, Noor Mohammad Sheikh, a former Member of the Legislative Assembly from Batamaloo and the District President Srinagar for the Jammu and Kashmir Apni Party, has resigned from the party.

Noor Mohammad confirmed his resignation in a post on ‘X’ formerly Twitter which reads:    I hereby announce my #resignation from the basic membership of Apni Party @Apnipartyonline). While my time with the party has been valuable, I must honor the  aspirations of my people and workers. I will now dedicate myself to serving the community in my individual capacity.

Sheikh, who had previously been associated with the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) before joining the Apni Party.

His departure follows the resignation of Usman Majid, a senior vice president and founding member of the Apni Party, further shaking the party’s stability.

As reported earlier, the trend of politicians switching allegiances continues before elections are announced, with a higher speculation that more leaders may soon follow suit.       (News Vibes of India)
