Srinagar, Dec 31 (NVI) Srinagar Police have booked Shakeel Ahmad Sheikh, also known as Shakeel Kano, a notorious drug peddler, under the Prevention of Illicit Traffic in Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act (PIT NDPSA).
Police said that a resident of Pamposh Colony, Noorbagh Srinagar, Kano is a habitual offender with a long history of involvement in drug trafficking.
Following a detailed dossier compiled by the Srinagar Police, a PIT NDPSA warrant was issued, leading to the detention of the accused in District Jail Udhampur. Shakeel Kano had previously been implicated in drug-related activities, including a case registered under FIR No. 131/2022 at Police Station Safakadal, under the NDPS Act. Despite being subjected to preventive measures on multiple occasions, he persisted in his illegal dealings, endangering society, particularly the youth.
Known for his active role in the narcotics trade, Kano has been involved in procuring and distributing drugs, primarily targeting the youth of Srinagar. His actions have contributed to the growing drug menace, causing significant harm to the community.
