Omar Abdullah Extends Eid, Nauroz Greetings; Prays for Peace and Prosperity in J&K

Srinagar, Mar 20 (NVI): Omar Abdullah on Friday extended warm greetings to the people of Jammu and Kashmir and those celebrating worldwide on the auspicious occasions of Eid-ul-Fitr and Nauroz.

In his message, the Chief Minister highlighted the spiritual significance of Eid, describing it as a divine celebration following a month of fasting, prayers and self-discipline during Ramadan. He said the festival is an occasion to express gratitude to the Almighty and to uphold the values of compassion, generosity and unity.

“Eid is a joyous occasion that brings people together to celebrate the blessings of Ramadan. It strengthens the bonds of community and reaffirms the values of mutual respect and brotherhood. It is a time to spread happiness, extend kindness and lend a helping hand to those in need,” he said.

Abdullah noted that the festival reflects the rich ethos of communal harmony, shared heritage and cultural inclusivity that defines Jammu and Kashmir, reinforcing the spirit of unity and peace.

He prayed for lasting peace, sustained progress and prosperity in the Union Territory and conveyed his best wishes to people celebrating Eid-ul-Fitr across the globe.

Extending greetings on Nauroz, the Chief Minister said the festival marks the arrival of spring and the beginning of the Persian New Year, symbolising renewal, hope and harmony. He added that the occasion, celebrated with enthusiasm in various parts of the region, reflects a vibrant cultural heritage and the spirit of togetherness.

He prayed for sustained peace, development and prosperity in Jammu and Kashmir and hoped the festivals bring joy and positivity to every household.(NVI)
