Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) today underlined that its Holy Jihad is only against the Pakistan Army and its agents and asked the Police and government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to stay away from it.
Issuing a statement, it said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK) Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur had confirmed TTP’s contention that the Pakistan Army is using the police of the Province as cannon fodder.
‘Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan wants to make it clear with reference to the press conference of Chief Minister of KPK Ali Amin Gandapur that our war is against the class imposed on Pakistan i.e. the army and their agents and so on,” it said in a statement.
The statement, issued by TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani, said the organisation has repeatedly announced that the police of KPK ‘”should stay away from this ongoing war between us and the army”.
It said the Pakistan Army is engaging the TTP in a conflict “to get dollars” and the police and other institutions are being used as cannon fodder in this war.
As the Chief Minister of KPK himself has expressed that the blood of the KPK police personnel is being shed in this war and the government is not giving them more personnel, which is a clear proof of the attitude of the Pakistan Army.
“It ( Pakistan Army) wants to kill other institutions while preserving itself to establish dominance,” the TTP spokesman said.
“On this occasion, we want to send a clear message to the KPK government and the police once again to keep away from the path of our holy jihad against the army and its agents,” the statement said.
“In this war, people will continue to be killed and the military will continue to enjoy power and dollars,” the spokesman said.
