Srinagar, June 19 (NVI): A Pakistani national, who was apprehended by security forces in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district after allegedly crossing the Line of Control (LoC), has been repatriated to Pakistan, officials said.
Officials that the individual, identified as Asad Khan, a resident of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KPK), was detained in Simari village of Kupwara on June 12 after crossing into Indian territory.
They said that following the completion of necessary procedures, he was repatriated to Pakistan on June 18.
Officials added that during his stay in India, the Pakistani national was treated in a humane manner in accordance with established norms and procedures.
They said the repatriation reflects adherence to humanitarian principles and professional conduct while dealing with such cases.—(NVI)
