Srinagar: Pakistan-supported terrorists today struck at a number of places in Kashmir, killing a CRPF jawan and injuring another, besides targeting a Kashmiri Pandit and two non-local labourers.

The Indian Army also foiled an infiltration bid from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir in Naushera area of Rajouri Sector of the Line of Control (LoC), killing a terrorist and recovering arms and ammunition.

In Shopian district of Kashmir, terrorists this evening opened fire on a Kashmiri Pandit shopkeeper, identified as Sonu Kumar, in Chotgam village.

He was immediately shifted to a hospital in critical condition, officials said.

Senior security officials have rushed to the area and a search operation has been launched to track down the attackers.

Earlier in the day, terrorists targeted a CRPF party in Maisuma area in the heart of Srinagar.

Two CRPF personnel were injured in the shooting.

The injured were shifted to a hospital but one of them, Head Constable Vishal, succumbed to his injuries, officials said.

This attack on CRPF took place hours after two non-local labourers were fired upon by terrorists in Lijora area of Pulwama district in South Kashmir.

Both were injured and hospitalised.

Two non-local labourers were fired upon by terrorists last evening in Nowpora Litter area of the same Pulwama district.

They were identified as Dheeraj Dutt and Surinder Singh, both hailing from Pathankot in Punjab.

Over the last fortnight, terrorists have shot and injured 6 non-locals in separate attacks in Pulwama district.
