Pakistan military continues to suffer; over 14 soldiers killed in multiple attacks by Islamists

Peshawar: Pakistani military continues to be at the receiving end in its fight against Islamist groups as more than 14 soldiers were killed and injured in different attacks since last night.

This evening, a truck carrying personnel of paramilitary force Frontier Corps (FC) was struck by a suicide bomber in Hayatabad area of Peshawar.

At least 8 personnel were killed and injured in the attack, which has been claimed by a newly-surfaced Tehreek-e-Jihad Pakistan (TJP).

TJP has been described as a ‘brotherly jihadi organisation’ by Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) which is waging an all-out war against the “unholy” and “corrupt” Pakistani Army and its associated forces.

Meanwhile, the TTP said it killed 5 FC personnel and injured one in an attack in Murgha Kali area of ​​Zhob district of Zhob province.

The Mujahideen used laser guns and light weapons in the attack last night, TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani said.

At around 8 AM today, TTP Mujahideen killed 2 personnel of the “unholy” (Pakistan) Army in a sniper attack in Kakakhel area of ​​Gudiyum of North Waziristan, he said.

TTP also attacked an FC post in Bara area of ​Khyber Agency last night with rockets and  “there is a strong possibility of casualties”, he said.

Last night only, the TTP attacked a military post in Surband area of ​​Laki Marwat district in Bannu with light and heavy weapons and “there is a strong possibility of financial and human loss”, the spokesman said.
