Peshawar: Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), which is waging an all-out war against the Pakistan Army and its associated forces, continues to expand its wings, with a number of other groups joining it in its campaign to establish Shariah rule in Pakistan.
So far, 34 groups have reportedly announced association with TTP since it started its military campaign in November last year.
TTP spokesman Muhammad Khurasani today said a group led by Yahya Sahib from Sada of Kurram Agency has “pledged allegiance to Hijra and Jihad” under the guidance of TTP’s Amir Mufti Abu Mansoor Asim (Mufti Nurwali Mehsud).
The group pledged to abide by the laws and regulations of the TTP, he said.
Three days back, another group led by Saif Al-Omar Sahib from the Kirk district, Kohat province, pledged allegiance to TTP and its movement.
More groups have joined the TTP over the past weeks and months.
Khurasani said the other groups were joining TTP because of its “positive policies” and “continuous invitations”.
“We invite other Pakistani Mujahideen to continue the Jihad of Pakistan with unity and unity under one Amir,” the TTP spokesman said.
TTP says the Pakistan Army and its associated security agencies are “unholy” and “corrupt” and holds them responsible for all the problems afflicting the country.
The Islamist organisation has vowed to defeat the Pakistan Army.
The growing network of TTP is surely going to be a matter of concern for the Pakistan establishment, particularly the military, which is already at the receiving end in the face of regular attacks by the Islamist group.
