Jammu: Pakistani forces tonight violated border ceasefire agreement with India by resorting to unprovoked firing at BSF posts in Arnia sector of Jammu, officials said.
BSF responded in kind and exchange of fire between the two sides was continuing when last reports came in.
The Pakistani Rangers, a paramilitary border force, started firing at around 8 PM, targeting BSF posts across the International Border (IB), BSF spokesman said.
It was “unprovoked firing started by Pak Rangers on BSF posts in Arnia area which is befittingly retaliated by BSF troops,” he said.
The firing by Pakistan Rangers is violation of an agreement with India to maintain peace at the International Border.
