Jammu, July 7 (NVI) Pakistan Army today resorted to unprovoked firing on an Indian Army post at the Line of Control (LoC) in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir, evoking an appropriate response.
The Pakistan Army fired at the Indian post in Mankote sector of Poonch at around 16.55 PM (IST), according to officials.
The Pakistani troops fired from small weapons, they said.
The Indian Army responded by firing 15-20 rounds of small arms on the Pakistani post located across the LoC in Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK), they said.
No injuries were reported in the exchange of fire, they said.
Significantly, firing by Pakistani troops came at a time when people of POJK have risen against the illegal Pakistani occupation.
A mass uprising has been going on for over a month in entire POJK and the Pakistani military has been trying, unsuccessfully, to crush it.
The occupying Pakistani military has killed and injured hundreds of Kashmiris in POJK by resorting to firing and teargas shelling. (NVI)
