Pattan(Baramulla),July 19 (NVI) : Minga Sherpa, Deputy Commissioner Baramulla has announced that a water supply scheme worth 60 crores is being constructed to address the water deficit in the Pattan area.
Talking to reporters in Pattan area as per News Vibes of India—(NVI) said that the aim of this project is to provide a reliable and sustainable water supply to the entire region, alleviating the long-standing issues of water scarcity.
He said that 60 crore project can’t be completed overnight but work is going on in full swing and is expected to be completed in next 6-7 months.
He said that 75 percent work has been completed and area that has long pending water issue will get piped potable water soon.
The initiative reflects the administration’s commitment to improving the living standards and infrastructure in Baramulla.
DC Baramulla said that an inquiry will be conducted to investigate the violent clashes that erupted during a protest by residents of the Chainbal area in Pattan.
The residents were demonstrating against the persistent water scarcity in their region.
The protest escalated, leading to a confrontation with the police.
Earlier Amod Nagpure, SSP Baramulla had urged citizens to register their protests peacefully, emphasizing that there is no space for violence in the district.
The DC also assured the public that measures are being taken to resolve the water scarcity issue promptly. (News Vibes of India)
